In the Jungle by the Sea

Off The Grid

OFF THE GRID

Up at Todo Bien we’ve tried to provide everything you’ll need to enjoy your break away.

We try to be as eco-friendly and self sufficient as possible using only solar energy, solar hot water, fresh drinking water from our own well, fruit from our own trees and vegetables from our own vege garden (when in season).

However, we don’t provide you with all the luxuries of a city hotel (hopefully this is one of the reasons you have come to Nicaragua!) so we therefore ask that you read below and be aware of the facilities we provide so you will arrive fully prepared.

LINENS

Tempur Mattresses for the best nights sleep in Nicaragua plus 100% Cotton Sheets & pillow cases.

TOILETRIES

Shampoo, Body Wash & Hand Soap is provided. Anything else you need please bring with you.

Maderas cafe

Our delicious coffee & home baked goodies are served from Wednesday till Monday with love. Click here for more info about our cafe.

ALCOHOL SYSTEM

You can BYO Wine and Spirits but not beer. We have beers for sale for $2 using an honesty system - we will bill you at the end of your stay.

SOLAR POWERED ENERGY

Todo Bien generates a lot of its power from the solar panels located around the property. With this in mind we ask that guests be mindful of their power consumption an only use fans when you are in your rooms and lights at night.

We run mainly off solar power but we also have a mains connection and a generator for back up so we should never be without power at Todo Bien. In saying this we are in the jungle in Nicaragua so there is a possibility of short periods without power… thats life in Nica! (Also, who doesn’t like a candle lit dinner!?…)

WIFI

We understand that being connected is important. How will everyone at home know you’ve just learned to surf or had breakfast surrounded by Howler monkeys?

Or maybe it’s just to let friends and family know that you were thinking of them while watching the sunset with a cold Toña in hand…

And it’s for this reason we have free wifi located in the main house. Please remember the wide is for staying in contact with loved ones and organising the logistics of your worldly adventures, not for uploading/downloading large files or streaming movies which will make the internet slower than a donkey ride from Managua! Please be mindful of other amigos using the net!

HOME COOKED BREAKFAST AND DINNER

Comida, comida, comida! We love good food. Which is why we provide guests with delicious breakfasts and optional dinners made from fresh produce either grown right here on-site or bought from the local markets.

BREAKFAST - Optional $7 per person

Your choice of one of the following options:

Option A: Cereal with granola, yoghurt and fresh fruit (seasonal from our trees)
Option B: 2 cooked eggs to your liking (fried, boiled, scrambled) plus toast and one side

Both include coffee or tea

BOARD RENTALS & SURF TRIPS

Whether its your first time on a board or you’re looking or something a little more challenging, we have got you covered.

We provide a range of boards from longboards to short boards. If you don’t find something you like here at Todo Bien, there are a range of shops in town that sell and rent boards so you will have no trouble finding your shred stick. Surf lessons are also available down at Playa Madera.

Depending on the surf conditions we will run trips out to the surrounding beaches, so keep a lookout on the info board in the main house to see what trips are on during your stay.

BBQ AREA

BBQ, Parillada, Brai, Barbie, Barbacoa…everyone round the world loves a good session on the grill. Up at Todo Bien it’s no different, so watch out when we fire up the coals and let us know how you like your meat!

WOOD FIRE PIZZA OVEN

Delicious smoky, crispy, thin base pizzas made with your choice of fresh local toppings, MADE BY YOU! Wood fire pizzas are a favourite up at Todo Bien and we think they taste better when they have your own personal touch. So when we fire up the oven we let YOU be the chef. So bring your creative culinary skills and show us what inspirations you can bring from around the globe.

FIRE PIT

A perfect day deserves a perfect end - so once you’ve got your fill, head down and grab a cushion around our very own fire pit. It’s a great place to meet new people and chat about the days adventures, otherwise just relax under the blanket of stars and let the flames work their mesmerising magic.

ON SITE ORCHID

Including Papaya, Mangoes, Oranges, Plantain and limes), we even have a few walnut trees! The trees weren’t in the bst shape when we arrived on site, so over the last few years we have been working on irrigation to get them pumping out some of natures finest once again. We try to use whatever fruit is in season for our breakfasts and smoothies, but please feel free to help yourself to a snack en route to the beach

ON SITE WATER WELL

All our fresh water is pumped up more than 430ft fro our on-site well. We try to limit the use of bottled water and encourage the re-filling of your own water bottles using the organically filtered water in the main house. We also use this water for cooking our delicious home cooked meals.

ECO TOILETS

We use eco toilets up here, meaning everything that is flushed down the toilet goes through a 3 stage gravity fed filter septic system. Gradually, all of yesterdays dinner is broken down stage by stage in a filter process. We kindly ask that you DONT FLUSH YOUR WASTE PAPER (or sanitary products - basically only flush what your body creates). Please place these items in the bins provided and they will be cleared away daily. This is normal practise round this part of the world!

**Please note: we are in central America and we are in the jungle so there are bugs. More at certain points of the year and less at others. We clean the rooms daily and provide mosquito nets for your bed, but we also ask you use common sense to minimise the bugs in your room like keeping the doors and windows shut after sunset and not having food in your room. If you are allergic, please bring your own repellent*
